For my sophomore english class, I had to read the book My Brilliant Friend. It tells the story of a complicated friendship between two girls growing up in post World War II Italy. I fell in love with this book. For this assignment, I wrote about one of my own friendships that connects to the themes of My Brilliant Friend.
I read the Shakespeare play Othello for english last year. It's about the villian Iago (who talks a LOT) scheming to destroy Othello and the people around him after Othello didn't promote him. For a play from that time, it deals with a lot of relatively progressive issues such as race and gender. For this assignment, I had to make an absurd thesis that we had to support using evidence from the book. I wrote about how Othello is about the music industry. Hope you enjoy!
For Girls Who Code, I had to make a Buzzfeed-style personality quiz. I decided to make mine about Pokemon because I like them and also because I couldn't really think of anything else. The color scheme reminds me of a Pokeball. Try it to see if you are a Pokemon (or even a mix???).
